Carlee Cayne has another chance at love, but a dangerous situation must be dealt with first.

BLURB: Once Upon an Austin Night

Carlee Cayne’s career in the U-S Marshal Service suddenly becomes fraught with more danger than she bargained for. Forced to shoot and kill a drug cartel leader’s brother puts a target on her by the vengeance seeking kingpin. The promise of another chance at love comes along with the appearance of Lincoln Bridger in her life. He shows her the way to a better, and safer, existence. But first, she and best friend Dixie Vega have dangerous business to tend to before that can be possible. She must stop the relentless stalking by the revenge-seeking drug lord, Rogelio Ortiz.

EXCERPT: Once Upon an Austin Nigght

Lincoln was already at his car with his keys out unlocking it. He saw Carlee abruptly stop beside her car, her eyes followed a dark colored SUV with blacked out windows driving into the hotel parking lot off the street very fast, screeching tires, driving directly for where Lincoln stood.
“Gun!” Carlee shouted as loud as she could. “Get down, Linc!”
Lincoln looked to the vehicle across the top of his car to see what she was yelling about. He saw a rear darkened window going down. The short barrel of a gun emerged into the illumination of the pinkish sodium vapor parking lot lights.
The rattling pops of automatic gunfire sounded off. Bullets ripped holes through the other side of his car.
His first panicked instinct was to run. He turned to do just that when he heard Carlee yell, “Damn it, Linc, get down!” He jerked his head around to see her sprinting high on her toes toward him.
Another staccato rant of gunfire came his direction.
He dropped to his stomach and looked across underneath his car. He saw Carlee carrying her gym bag, unzipping it on the run. She retrieved a pistol in a holster from it and dropped the bag on the fly. She then threw the holster off the pistol, racked the slide, chambering a shell, and fired three fast shots at the driver′s side of the windshield on the SUV. “Stay down, Linc! Don′t get up!”
The rattling trill of automatic gunfire again ripped through the night. This time, not at him, but from the opposite side of the offending vehicle toward Carlee. He saw her dive and roll out of the line of fire behind a parked car. Her head and gun arm emerged seconds later from behind the front end of another parked vehicle. She squeezed off three more quick shots. He heard a heavily accented voice from inside the SUV yell, “The bitch shot me! Let′s get out of here! Drive! Drive!”
The vehicle smoked its rear tires on the way out of the parking lot. Carlee sprang up from the safety of the vehicle she had crouched behind. She squeezed off three more parting shots, hitting the rear window with all three, as the vehicle screamed off down the street at high speed. She immediately spun around and ran for where Lincoln lay beside his car.
“Linc, are you okay!” she was shouting as she rounded the rear of his car.
Lincoln pushed himself to a sitting position and scooted back to lean against the car. “I think so,” he replied and then held both hands out. They were shaking. “But, I may need to change my underwear.”
Carlee drew a breath and blew it out as her body slumped forward, adrenaline charge leaving her in a sudden rush. She stepped next to him, backed up to his car, and oozed down to sit beside him. She pulled a cell phone from the side pocket of her jeans and dialed 911.
As she offered as many details as she could to the dispatcher, Lincoln thought about what had just happened. It occurred to him, for better or worse, the two of them had quite suddenly become more than friends. The thought came heavily tinged with fear. They were now bound by circumstances, lives inexorably linked for the foreseeable future. It did not take Sherlock Holmes to see this was likely a retaliatory thing for the shooting of Manuel Ortiz. Lincoln wondered if they would soon make another attempt. It seemed likely. It also seemed obvious to him, whoever was in that black SUV was going after someone she cared for, and that happened to be him on this night. It spoke to the cartel’s ruthlessness. They wanted her to see a friend or relative killed. Whoever they were had no way of knowing he and Carlee were mere acquaintances.
Another thought quickly moved in. It would now be impossible to keep Carlee a secret from Jeannine or her parents. It would be on every local news channel all day tomorrow and, possibly, a couple of network news sequences. There could be live bulletins going out tonight, due to the use of fully automatic weapons within the city limits. Television stations may determine it to be a public safety issue. It made him uneasy to think his wife and her parents would easily learn of the attack and that he and Carlee had been together. After a few seconds, his mind eased, when he considered Jeannine′s likely tryst Fitz told him about. He became conflicted. Should he even care what they thought? He and Carlee escaped harm. That′s what was important. He assumed Jeannine would be relieved that he was safe. What the hell am I thinking? I can′t assume that at all.

BLURB: Ella's Pleasure

A WHISPER OF PLEASURE

Ella Hepburn Is an auburn haired debutant from the harsh Scottish coastline—a wild innocent to be seduced and tamed. A spirited beauty, she captivated Drake Montgomerie's jaded heart—while succumbing to the smoldering desire she felt for her unyielding suitor.

A WHISPER OF DANGER

In Drake Montgomerie's glittering world of money and privilege, young Ella discovered passion and desire could overcome everything she'd been taught to resist—entangling Drake, the heir apparent, in a lethal coil of aristocratic family intrigue. But grave peril would only nurse the sparks of a love that knew no limits and a magnificent ecstasy that would not be denied.

EXCERPT: Ella's Pleasure

“Come, let’s take this path.” He settled one hand on the small of her back, directing her to the left. “I want to show you something.”
She gazed at him with wide eyes. “What? It’s getting late, I’m sure The Duchess will be looking for us.”
“Trust me, she won’t have to search for you. Between my men and Scarlett, they know exactly where we are. I mean to elude them for a few minutes of privacy.” He bent close to her and whispered. “I want to kiss you and there are just too many folks here.”
“Kiss me? I like your kisses.”
“I’m glad.” Lord, but he didn’t know what he’d do if she’d told him the opposite. “This way.” They were strolling deeper into the gardens where fewer people walked. Privacy was what he wanted; this was exactly where he meant to steal a real kiss from Ella Hepburn.
“What are those noises?” she stopped and looked at him, searching for the source of the sounds.
He ran one finger between his collar and neck attempting to figure out what to tell her. “They are people enjoying pleasure.”
The expression on her face outlined by the gaslights amazed him. “Is it what I’m thinking?”
“I don’t know. What do you believe you hear?” He laughed inside at the joy he felt about this inquisitive lady.
“Well, I don’t think they are just kissing.” Even in the half-light he watched the blush rise on her cheeks as she covered her mouth as if she understood what was going on all around her.
“Remember our conversation about love making?”
She nodded her eyes huge with wonder. “In public?”
“My darling girl, can you see them?”
“No, but I now know what they are doing.”
“Hush,” he said, guiding her to a spot just beneath a light. “I’m going to kiss you until your Auntie finds us and stops me from having my wicked way with you in those bushes.”
He turned Ella and looking into her eyes, his mouth descended to meet hers. His hands at the small of her back pulled her close. With a surprised gasp she delighted him by opening her mouth. His tongue invaded with a primal urgency, creating a mercuric heat within. Tasting her sweetness and the honeyed depth of her mouth, his groan emanated from deep within.
Ella responded by wrapping her hands around his neck and running her fingers through his hair. Slipping her tongue inside his mouth, she met him with courage and passion. Her tiny feminine cry of surrender gave him confidence she enjoyed him. His hands slipped lower to cover her derriere and pull her tight against his pulsing cock, wondering if she understood the intense desire emanating from him.
He accepted all of her; teeth, tongue, lips, pressed together in an age-old rhythm. Taking her inside himself was heaven on earth. For a moment he pulled away, needing to see her eyes. Her face, flushed with pleasure, enticed him and his mouth found hers once more. Never wanting this to end, his kiss became urgent, and she responded with so much passion he wanted to bury himself deep inside her warmth. For today and this moment the kiss would have to be enough.
A sudden sharp pain shot across his back. “Stop this, Drake Montgomerie.” Another whack hit him in the buttocks and another. “Stop. Unhand Miss Ella before I let my sword slip from its hiding place.”

Title: Gotta Have Fayth
Twelve Dancing Princesses Book Six

Author: Christine Young
ISBN: 978-1-62420-373-2
Genre: Historical Romance
Excerpt Heat Level: 1
Book Heat Level: 4

Buy at: Amazon

BLURB: Gotta Have Fayth

A regal beauty with raven hair and piercing blue eyes, Fayth Graham is unwilling to parade herself in front of the wealthy Lords of England during the season. Seeking a means to dissuade any man wishing to wed her, she seeks a way to ruin herself for marriage. When she unexpectedly meets a man with sparkling gray eyes and an infectious grin, she decides this is the man who will keep her from agreeing to obey.

He returned from six months at sea, looking for a few nights of pleasure with a willing lass, but Jarret Kinsley got more than he bargained for when he met a beautiful debutant who responded to his kisses with a wild innocence that touched his heart. Yet the obstacles looming between them might rip them apart. Both had vowed never to marry, so when consequences of their dalliances got in the way, Jarret would have to choose between the life he's always desired and the woman he loves more than life.

EXCERPT:

            “You’re frightening me. I don’t understand anything you’ve been telling me right now.” For a moment, Fayth closed her eyes, realizing she’d pushed him too far. She didn’t know how to remedy this. “I apologize if I’ve done something to change you.”
            “I stole your innocence instead of keeping you safe.” His voice sounded bitter to her. “I wanted you for myself, only myself, without acting on what was in your best interest.’’
            She focused on Jarret, blinked and smiled slightly. “If you remember, I asked you to ruin me,” she murmured, hoping the truth would help. “I wanted you the instant I saw you.”
            “You had no idea what would happen in the aftermath of the tempest we created. I did. The pain I feel at the thought of what I’ve put you through is an agony I’ve never felt before. You trusted me without reservation, yet I’ve brought you nothing but challenges you never asked for and compromised you so thoroughly there is no way to rectify the situation.”
            “You’ve misconstrued everything about me,” she murmured, wishing he would give her credit for some intelligence and understand she had no misgivings. “I wanted everything we did with all my heart. You should have no regrets unless you regret me.”
            “I’m a bloody fool.”
            “Then I’m a blithering idiot,” she told him, unwilling to make this about him. “I’m a willing and eager partner in everything we’ve done. Perhaps you are a bloody fool if you still think this is all about you.”
            “I could’ve stopped us before we were buried in lies. Nothing will happen to me and I knew it. The town will ostracize you, and they will applaud me and my manly prowess.”
            Fayth smiled and touched Jarret’s hard jawline. “I won’t let you dictate what I do and you’ve always known that fact. You’ve gone far beyond what we discussed in the beginning. I’ve no expectation of marriage, nor do I want any part of the institution that involves weddings and a commitment to obey.”
            Jarret’s mouth flattened. “I’m going to leave and let you have what you’ve made damn clear to me, your independence.”
            “I don’t want you to go, you hard-headed man. I want you to make love to me and hold me in your arms. I don’t want that to end.”
            “I can’t do that without the commitment you will never make. There is no other choice for me. This has become a living hell.”
            “I can still be your mistress.” She’d wanted that from the beginning. “I’ll wait for you and I won’t betray you in anyway. Not like your father betrayed your mother.”

#CheckInAndShare

It's Check In Day.

Let's Make Fireworks

Time to pay the piper! How did you do? How much did you write? Did words explode on your WIP?

This is the Rogue's Angels weekly check-in. Every Thursday we encourage the Angels and visitors to let us know how their writing is going.

How well are you doing?

Had problems this week? That's ok. Just sit down this coming week and write. Whatever you do, don't let difficulties from the week before get in your way this week.

Every word is one word closer to the finished product.

I finished the rough draft of Aidan's Love. This is the last book in the twelve book series my daughter began years ago when she was in Junior High. Yay! I begun work on my part of the Hot August Nights anthology.

My story in the anthology series is about half finished.

I'm rereading Christel's story and adding at least one scene.

Rogue's Angels Present: Mrs. Murray's Ghost by Namemily-Jane Hills Orford

Please welcome Namemily-Jane Hills Orford author of Mrs. Murray's Ghost

Emily-Jane Hills Orford will be awarding a $10 Amazon/BN GC to a randomly drawn winner via rafflecopter during the tour.

Mrs. Murray's Ghost
by Author Namemily-Jane Hills Orford

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GENRE: Middle Grade fantasy
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
INTERVIEW:

1. What or who inspired you to start writing?

My grandmother (Gran) and my mother. Gran was a wonderful storyteller and everything in her life was a story. My mother told and wrote stories. They both encouraged me in different ways.

2. What elements are necessary components for this genre.

Imagination. Gran always claimed I had a vivid imagination. My sister encouraged me to write “The Piccadilly Street” series. Once I started, with Mary, the main character, I was reliving my childhood: my interests, my imaginings, my dreams and, of course, my ghost, Mrs. Murray. Mary is very much me when I was young.

Also, it’s imperative to understand the targeted audience. Middle Graders are very particularly about what they like and don’t like to read. After teaching writing to ten-year-olds, I had a good idea of what works and what doesn’t. Young people have such vivid imaginations and it’s wonderful listening to their stories. They inspired me and gave me some ideas for developing a plot and characters (real and imaginary) that would appeal to young readers.

3. How did you come up with your idea for your novel?

My memories. Fond memories of the haunted house where I grew up: the ghost, the bats, the uniqueness of the house itself. I had been writing family stories and memoirs for years and I wanted to try something a little different, something for younger readers. So, in a way, this series, “The Piccadilly Street” series, is a trip down memory lane for me.

4. What expertise did you bring to your writing?

I know the house. I know the ghost. I know my dreams and memories and imaginings. I have worked with young people for years. It just all came together and I had so much fun writing this series.

5. What would you want your readers to know about you that might not be in your bio?

I love what I do. I love writing. When I’m not writing, I’m working in my garden (in the growing season), I’m working on my needleart, I’m playing the piano and composing music, or I’m painting. I’m an artist and a creator in many genres.

6. As far as your writing goes, what are your future plans?

I still have to achieve my goal of becoming a best-selling author. I keep hoping. I have lots of books and ideas in the works. The second two books of “The Piccadilly Street” series (“Mrs. Murray’s Hidden Treasure” and “Mrs. Murray’s Home) are with the publisher, going through edits. Book 4 (“Mr. Murray’s Gun”) is still in the writing process. I write every day and every opportunity I get. I carry a notebook with me so that I never have to sit waiting in a doctor’s office with nothing to do.

7. If you could be one of the characters from this book, who would it be and why?
Actually, I am one of the characters: Mary. She is very much what I was as a child, so, in writing her story, I’m reliving my past. Great fun.

8. Can you give us a sneak peek into this book?

            “Did you leave any lights on downstairs?” he asked as he seated himself at the table once again.

            “No,” Mom answered. “I turned everything off.”

            “She did,” Mary added. “I made sure.”

            “The lights were all on in the kitchen,” Dad said. “Some of the cupboard doors were wide open. I closed them.” At that, the banging doors started up again.

            “I guess it’s official,” David announced. “We have a ghost.” He made his move and passed ‘Go’. Holding out his hand to the banker (who was always Dad to ensure some modicum of fairness in the game), he demanded, “Two hundred dollars, please.”

            “Sounds to me like the ghost is checking us out,” Dad said, handing over the Monopoly money. “It’s not hurting anyone, so let it be.”

            “Spoooooky!” David howled, laughing.

            Mary didn’t laugh. She wasn’t sure why they thought it was funny, but if no one else was afraid, maybe ghosts weren’t scary.

9. Do you outline your books or just start writing?

A bit of both. I like to jump right into the story, to start writing, but I also write down my ideas of where the story should go. Primarily so I don’t forget my brilliant ideas.

10. How do you maintain your creativity?

By constantly being creative, whether it’s writing, working on my needleart and paintings, composing music, or even working in the garden. Also, by sharing my ideas with other like-minded people. Creative people inspire creative people.

11. Who is your favorite character in the book. Can you tell us why?

Other than Mary, who’s so much me as a child, I would say Granny. I modelled this character after my own grandmother, whom we fondly called Gran. We were very close, Gran and I; we shared a passion for reading, telling stories and travelling. Most of my stories somehow include this very special person in some way.

BLURB:

Mary’s family has moved into a huge Victorian mansion. She loves her gigantic new house, especially her room. But then she begins to meet the house’s other residents. Mrs. Murray was murdered in Mary’s new house. At first she tries to scare the new residents away, but there seems to be a force connecting the ghost to Mary. Even the stranded Brownies, the little people who live between the walls, feel that connection. When Mary becomes deathly ill, the Brownies and the ghost team up to try to rescue her, only to encounter a witch and her evil minions. Time is running out. They must rescue Mary from a fever-induced dream world before she is trapped there forever. As well as being a fun read for young readers, the story gives an historical perspective to childhood, as it dates to the 1960s. It also deals with some very current issues, specifically bullying.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
EXCERPT:
There is a street called Piccadilly in London, England. In fact, there is a place, an intersection, known as Piccadilly Circus. But it is questionable as to whether or not there are any major intersections along the famous Piccadilly Street that have residential houses of some distinction on all four corners, and there is definitely no intersection of Piccadilly Street and Waterloo Street. When I last visited London, England, I was disappointed to note that there wasn’t even a Waterloo Street, just a Waterloo Road, and that was on the other side of the river from Piccadilly Street. So, the intersection of Piccadilly Street and Waterloo Street could only occur in the other London, the one in which Mary grew up. Indeed, the number of her childhood home, had it existed in London, England, could only exist in the middle of the intersection of Piccadilly Street and Regent Street.
There are other cities in the world that bear the auspicious name of London. But only the one in Canada has an intersection of Piccadilly Street and Waterloo Street with an old Victorian mansion on each of the four corners. One, in particular, is a grand Queen Anne style, early twentieth-century building complete with a tower room, a bay window, stained glass windows, mosaic tiled floors and much more. A family moved in to take up residence in 1967. Mary’s family. It was also at this house that others took up residence many years earlier and never left. One died and left her restless spirit to roam the halls and torment those who chose to reside in the house. The other two were little sprites known as Brownies. They lived inside the walls and watched over the house that they also called home.
You see, the Brownies had a mission, something that was going to involve one of the new residents of this old house: a ten-year-old girl by the name of Mary. This is, in fact, Mary’s story, or, at least, the beginning of her story. For there is much more to Mary’s story than this little tale.
AUTHOR Bio and Links:
An avid gardener, artist, musician and writer, Emily-Jane Hills Orford has fond memories and lots of stories that evolved from a childhood growing up in a haunted Victorian mansion. Told she had a ‘vivid imagination’, the author used this talent to create stories in her head to pass tedious hours while sick, waiting in a doctor’s office, listening to a teacher drone on about something she already knew, or enduring the long, stuffy family car rides. The author lived her stories in her head, allowing her imagination to lead her into a different world, one of her own making. As the author grew up, these stories, imaginings and fantasies took to the written form and, over the years, she developed a reputation for telling a good story. Emily-Jane can now boast that she is an award-winning author of several books, including Mrs. Murray’s Ghost (Telltale Publishing 2018), Queen Mary’s Daughter (Clean Reads 2018), Gerlinda (CFA 2016) which received an Honorable Mention in the 2016 Readers’ Favorite Book Awards, To Be a Duke (CFA 2014) which was named Finalist and Silver Medalist in the 2015 Next Generation Indie Book Awards and received an Honorable Mention in the 2015 Readers’ Favorite Book Awards and several other books. Rogue's Angels Present: Dickensen Academy by
Please welcome  author of Dickensen Academy.
Christine Grabowski will be awarding $25 Amazon/BN GC to a randomly drawn winner via rafflecopter during the tour.
Dickensen Academy
by Christine Grabowski
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

GENRE: Young YA - fantasy

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
INTERVIEW:
1. What or who inspired you to start writing?
I’ve always enjoyed writing but never thought I had the time. But watching my daughter, who was in 4thgrade at the time, write for fun after she finished her homework inspired me to make time to write. Once I started, I kept finding more and more time to write.
2. How did you come up with your idea for your novel?
When I decided I wanted to write a novel, I began to analyze my dreams each morning hoping I’d be a lucky person who dream up an amazing idea—have you heard how Stephenie Meyer wrote Twilight? Each morning, I never remembered anything good, but I did begin to wonder why I remembered some dreams and forgot others. Without giving too much of my book away, that idea led me to the premise for Dickensen Academy.
3. What expertise did you bring to your writing?
I am not trained as a creative writer. In fact, in school I hated writing although I did manage to earn As. I have two business degrees, both with an emphasis on marketing. Most jobs I had post college required writing, so I learned to be technically correct and concise. Fast forward several years, and my discipline led me learn all I could about creative writing. And once I got close to publishing my first book, my business degree helped tremendously in terms of project management and marketing experience.
4. As far as your writing goes, what are your future plans?
Right now, I’m working on a sequel for Dickensen Academy. Although I wrote the book as a standalone, readers are clamoring for more of Autumn’s adventures at her boarding school. Once that is through I will return to my fairy tale retelling. At some point, I want to either have wider distribution, which would mean getting in with a bigger publisher, or more control, which would be going indie. At this point though, I want to continue to focus on the craft of writing and see what happens with Dickensen Academyas it only released in September.
5 If you could be one of the characters from this book, who would it be and why?
I would want to be Aditi, Autumn’s roommate. Everyone loves Aditi because she is so sweet and genuinely cares about her friends and family. She is also very artistic, and I would love to be able to draw so well.
6. Can you give us a sneak peak into this book?
I can’t tell you too many specifics or it will spoil the mystery at the beginning of the book. But here is an overview.
Dickensen Academyis a young YA contemporary fantasy that bridges the gap between MG and YA. It is about a fourteen-year-old girl, Autumn, who is invited to a fine arts boarding school in the secluded mountains of the Pacific Northwest. However, she soon realizes the faculty is secretly teaching dream telepathy.
As Autumn uncovers more about the dark side of the high school and struggles with its curriculum, she questions whether Dickensen Academy is where she truly belongs. When tragedy strikes, Autumn must learn to believe in her own power and stand up to her greatest fear or risk having her memories destroyed to protect the school’s secrets.
Although the premise is considered a paranormal or a fantasy, the focus of the book is as much about Autumn’s relationships with her friends and family and her struggles in school and for independence—something many teens can relate to.
7. Do you belong to a critique group? If so how does this help or hinder your writing?
Yes, I belong to two of them, an online group and an in-person group. I would never have published this book without my online critique group because they taught me so much about revision. I’d argue I learn almost as much from critiquing other people’s works as having my own work critiqued. I joined the local group after Dickensen Academywas written. Not only do they help improve my writing, but they are my cheerleaders and my counselors.
8. Do you outline your books or just start writing?
I always try to outline first, but I can never fully develop the outline, particularly in the middle. So at that point, I start writing and get to know my characters and plot on a more intimate basis. Then as more ideas come to me, I add them to the outline.
9. What is the best and worst advice you ever received? (regarding writing or publishing)
There is quote I’ve run into a few times which says, “The difference between a published writer and an unpublished writer is one gave up.” This has inspired me so many times when I wanted to give up. Although I believe you need to continue to work hard to improve your craft and follow the steps if you want to get published, it will never happen if you give up. As far as the worst advise goes, I’m sure I’ve been given a lot of it over the years, but I’ve tried to forget it, so nothing comes to mind.
10. Who is your favorite character in the book. Can you tell us why?
I fell in love with Ben while writing. He’s the guy Autumn crushes on from afar, and I did from my computer. He is cute, smart, and caring. He gets along with everyone and is really into dream conveyance. However, I did make sure he was real and not too perfect.
BLURB:
Dickensen Academy isn’t a typical boarding school. The faculty is hiding an unbelievable secret within their fine arts program. When Autumn Mattison receives an invitation to attend the high school, she yearns to escape her overbearing father yet remains reluctant to leave her mother and brother. Her doubts fade away when a vivid dream convinces her she belongs there.
Away from home, Autumn discovers a unique school environment that awakens her creative potential, and her new friends become like a second family. However, as she uncovers more about the dark side of the school and struggles with its curriculum, she questions whether Dickensen Academy is truly where she belongs.
When tragedy strikes, Autumn must learn to believe in her own power and stand up to her greatest fear or risk having her memories destroyed to protect the school’s secrets. Caught between secrets and dreams, can she find her true self?
EXCERPT:
“I feel like there’s something big we don’t know about. Something those students were protecting. I mean, really, why are we here?”
I thought it was just me who was confused. “Well…the recruiters said we’re creative and focused.”
“Yeah, that’s what Principal Locke said too.”
“And we have the right personality.”
Ben looked up at the sky, sighed then turned toward the forest. “What did he say…something about how it will soon become clear why we’re here, and there’s some ultimate purpose for our creativity?”
“I know. That whole creativity part was a bit bizarre.”
He shrugged. “It seems everyone is going with the flow. But I have so many questions.” Then he touched my arm to stop me, so I turned toward him. “I’m thinking they’re isolating us for some special reason,” he admitted in an embarrassed tone.
I tried not to laugh—he was acting paranoid. But I didn’t know Ben well. Maybe he was joking, trying to freak me out. Or was he hitting on me? The flutter in my chest moved to my stomach. I was already anxious about being away from home and whether or not I could hack the academics. I didn’t need to obsess about anything else. But I still had to know about Ben’s dream.
“So…I also had a dream about Dickensen before I accepted the offer.”
Ben’s head snapped toward me. “You did?”
