I've been Triberred and Stumbled Upon

Allura, first book in the 12 Dancing Princess series is now $0.99

So how much social networking in enough?
I'm beginning to wonder about this question. I know I want to reach more people with my blog and sell more books. I need to have my name whizzing around in cyber space. But to me, none of this is user friendly.

Several months ago I tried to figure out how to use Stumble Upon since I had heard via Goddessfish this was a great advertising tool for my blog. But I couldn't figure it out. I have the google + button on my blog but I don't have any google + friends. So even if I click on this button the blog doesn't go to anyone.

Now I've run into Triberr which is also supposed to be a great social networking tool. But one has to have an invitation. I've put my name out during this workshop but haven't received an invite yet. Sigh...

And while I am believing I am a real newbie to social media, I'm discovering I know more than a lot of writers out there. I use my facebook although I haven't set up my fan page. Well I set it up, but there is nothing on it. I don't know how to get friends on my fan page. I guess I should invite some people.

However I have invited some of my friends and co-writers to follow me on my personal blog, but some have not clicked the follow button. Sigh... again.

I can use twitter and understand most of its in and outs.

The other workshop I encountered was the one on how to use pinterest to promote yourself as a writer. I have  been on pinterest since last September. I have quite a few boards and some of my boards have different books I have written (covers) on them. But I didn't realize I could just put words on the boards. Didn't realize I could blurbs and prices and excerpts. Also I discovered one could run a contest and advertise it on pinterest.

I have so much food for thought.
And again I ask, how much is too much.
I guess it must have to do with how much time one has after they have worked all day, tried to write a page or two, post a blog, tweet... and you get the picture.

However, I am so willing if I sell more books.

  1. LOL, Allana! I've decided to stick to the social media I can do without crashing my computer or accidentally hacking into a top secret Web site--and use that time to write stories. But you ask a good question...
