Holiday Madness
I worked retail for many years as a second job and as my main breadwinning job. From Halloween through the night before Christmas, I was the busiest I can ever remember being. People seem to get bitten by a crazy bug. I can't say I've seen such single minded determination at any other time of the year.Well, this year, take a break. Listen to the Christmas carols. Look, really look, at the decorations. Smell the baked goods and drop your quarters in the Salvation Army red kettles.
Take time to think of those struggling with day to day living. Pass along as much sincere kindness as you can. It's amazing what a smile can do for a harried sales clerk. Don't be in so much of a hurry you forget to be joyful.
We make the season what it is--make it a positive memory this year.

I still want to be in denial that the holidays are upon us! Once Halloween comes, it seems like only the blink of an eye until it's New Year's. But I will try to take your advice and slow down. :)
