A New Year

It's hard to believe we're already two weeks into the New Year. Studies show most people give up on their New Year Resolutions by now. So how are you doing? Have you continued your resolution?

I've given up on setting resolutions several years ago because like most of us my follow through wasn't very good and my list was always the same. I promised I'd declutter my house and exercise more and within a couple of weeks--a month at the most I'd forget to work on the two things which bothered me the most.

So now days, I have a list of two or three things which I need to work on. Yes exercise and decluttering my house will always be on the top of the list. This year I've added starting my own blog, visit my Facebook page more often and not waiting to the last minute to start my sewing projects.

I'm happy to say after years of trying, I feel I finally have exercising as part of my weekly routine. Experts say if you have a walking/exercising partner you'll stay with your workout longer. Now that I think about, over the years I tried walking with a lot of people. Family, neighbors and several friends and for one reason or another things never worked out. Then I looked a little closer to home. My husband and I now walk five to six nights a week and we lift weights once or twice a week. It's been a great way to relieve stress and talk about our day. I've lost some weight and I'm enjoying the extra energy I have.

Hopefully it doesn't take as long for me to add the other things from my list to my weekly routine or it may be another year before I start my own blog. I've got to go I need to go for my walk.
