Infinity Cliff: Have you ever been on a cliff and not been able to see the bottom? Well, that's Infinity Cliff. Brody and Sadie are on top and Sadie has dropped a rock to hear it when it reaches the bottom. Hah! no sound reverberates from the canyon.
Cliff Hanger Excerpt:
Brody couldn’t help laughing out loud then he grew serious,
knowing he had to tread lightly. He inhaled a long deep breath searching for
the words but didn’t know what to say.
“I am that cat. All jaguars have rosettes, even the black
ones. They are a part of me that does not vanish when I’m in human form.” The
words blurted out before he had time to evaluate their impact. He could take
nothing back.
“Liar, liar...”
“No,” he stood, his hands on the fastenings to his jeans. “I
will show you.”
“You’re going to strip naked. I know what that foreshadows.”
Sadie laughed. “This is all absurd.”
“Not this time.” In an instant his clothes were off.
Adrenalin and a crazy energy zipped through him. Shaking, he felt the shift
taking place, but was so caught up in the action, he could not see her eyes or
read her expression. Blood pulsed and heated his body.
Suddenly, and on all fours he stood beside her, his tail
twitching and his claws digging into the rocky earth.
“Brody!” On her feet she was backing from him, edging closer
to infinity.
Fear riffled through him. She stood inches from the edge of
the cliff. Rocks loosened beneath her feet. Sadie!
In his cat from, he could do nothing to stop her backward
movement. He started to shift back just as she slipped to her knees. Groping
with her hands and pushing with her feet, she found a sturdy rock to grab hold
of.
“Brody, help!”
“God, Sadie.” Just as it seemed she would be hurtled down
the slope, he was human again.
