LEGACY REBORN will be released July 1--wrapping up the Halo Legacy Series and answering the question: Why did Bernie have to die?

Here's a sneak peak cliffhanger from that book:

The lights shone brightly from every room in the house as the sound of voices and laughter echoed on the evening air. The parking area outside the O'Shea house was crowded with vehicles for the grand opening of Bernie's Place, a memorial celebrating Bernie's legacy of building a family based on love.

The man wedged his large black sedan into a narrow open spot--the only one he found. Then he sat behind the wheel for a moment, looking around. Probably a stupid move to come here.

Another vehicle pulled in behind him, blocking any way out. A man in a tuxedo helped a woman dressed in long gown out of their car, then they walked toward the house, talking and laughing. When they reached the door, a woman opened it. He could tell by the hair color this was not Bernie O'Shea's widow.

The sounds of voices and laughter muted again as the couple moved into the house and the door closed behind them.

Might as well go inside. Either that or he'd have to hike back to town.

He opened the car door and sidled out past the vehicle beside him.

As he walked slowly toward the house, he touched his jacket pocket, reassured by the bulge of the gun in his shoulder holster. When he stood on the wraparound porch, he took note of other doors and windows, a habit grown a bit rusty since he had acquired a security detail as befitted his office.

Tonight he traveled alone. Instinct told him this was no normal social event. The invitation promised special guests, and the book--oh yes, Layla Dalton would pay dearly for the secrets she revealed in the book she had written. Seemed beating Charlie's brother to the edge of simplicity wasn't enough to silence the Dalton family. Now Charlie's daughter would feel the wrath of noncompliance.

He poked at the doorbell, and stood to the side.
