I could go on and on but I'd bore even myself. One of my biggest peeves is the use of the LIKE PHRASE. Even the 'New York Times Best Selling Authors' slip up and slide one in every so often.

It is the height of laziness to rely on like phrases to convey the idea. Decide what about the phrase gets across the idea you are looking for and find the words to say it without the 'like'.

As I said two paragraphs up, I could go on and on but won't. Rethink your use of the like phrase and make a point to work without it... like working without a net.
