Are your characters believable?

If you can convince this little one, then you've got it made. If not, well...

I received a compliment in the most offhanded way. My husband was commenting about speaking with a gentleman who'd purchased my Dragon book bundle for himself and another co-worker. He told Wingman that since the purchase, he'd been hit with a bunch of 'life happens' things and hadn't been able to get beyond the first couple chapters. He was a bit miffed as he likes dragons and stories about them.

On the other hand, his co-worker had received the books and read through them, voraciously. Now, that's always nice to hear, but it gets better. My premise for the books is, in the Northwest of the United States, people are willing to believe in Bigfoot. The tales from Native American culture help  authenticate such stories.

So... if they are willing to believe in Bigfoot, why not in dragon/human shapeshifters? How much more far fetched is that? [Okay, I'll take my tongue out of my cheek, now.] It seems the co-worker feels my presentation of dragon/human shapeshifters is so convincing, he is -- checking people's eyes to see if they have the dragon-slit eyes of shapeshifters. Seriously.

Now, that's characterization that at least one person thinks believable. I'll take it.
