Welcome to Cliff Hanger Saturday Just Like the Matinees of Old

eek...this one would definitely have me turning the page. What happened next?

Cliff Hanger Saturday is a place where you can post your favorite "cliff hangers" of all time or just good writing at the end of the scene. (if not your own work, please give credit to the author and the book.) We all know, a scene should not end with anyone going to sleep. YAWN. But sometimes we see this. If the characters go to sleep, so do we.

So share favorites or write one here.

Highland Magic by Christine Young

As she walked to the fire to check on the soup, she couldn't help wondering if Obrian would remember his name and ride off into the sunset, forgetting her.

  1. The guy in the photo looks like he is not having a good day...hopefully the rescue went well.

Here's a scene cliff-hanger from my book, THE BODYGUARD:

Footsteps sounded on the stairway. A man’s tread, heavy and sure, making his way toward her.

    Toward her children.

Julia stood and grabbed for something that could be used as a weapon. Her fingers closed over a bumpy, rounded object as the wall sealing off the turret began to slide open.
