Cliff Hanger Saturday is a place where you can post your favorite "cliff hangers" of all time or just good writing at the end of the scene. (if not your own work, please give credit to the author and the book.) We all know, a scene should not end with anyone going to sleep. YAWN. But sometimes we see this. If the characters go to sleep, so do we.
So share favorites or write one here.
I have been posting excerpts for advertising and Rogue Phoenix Press. If you are writing an excerpt for something make sure that excerpt ends making the reader turn the page and read on. Do we want the reader up all night? Of course we do.
Cliff Hanger from Safari Moon
“Your
husband?” The female cooed unbelievingly. “Now why do I find that hard to
believe?”
“What
a surprise darling.” She turned to Solo. “Is this one willing, eager, or able?
Or perhaps a combination of all three?” She did try to push the anger from her
voice. But then she thought it was a nice touch and if anger got rid of the
female it was worth the embarrassment.
“Of
all the nerve!”
“Yes,
my wife does have--nerve. Among other things.” Solo still stood, open-mouthed,
as Nyssa made her way across the room.
Nyssa
ran her hand up Solo’s arm and endeavored for sultry instead of anger in her
tone. “Sorry the plane took so long. Just like you asked, I bought a silky
little black thing for bed.”
There
were a number of things that could go wrong. For starters, Solo could deny the
relationship, and then of course the redhead could figure out she lied. Somehow
she didn’t expect either scenario.
“Pumpkin,”
Solo said with a husky little growl in the timbre of his voice.
Pumpkin?

The cities hanging on cliffs are amazing! However, I have a teensy aversion to heights, so I'm not sure I could live in one of these cities. But flying doesn't bother me. :)
ReplyDeleteToday, I'm going to share a really short cliffhanger from PICTURE PERFECT LEGACY, the first book of my LEGACY series, that will release March 1. This cliffhanger hints at one of the mysteries that will weave through several of the books as eight adopted siblings and their widowed mother, Tallie, search for the answer to why their father was shot and killed.
"Look for the letter, Tallie." A voice whispered inside her head. "If anything happens to me, promise you'll find the letter."
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
