However, since it's my turn to post, I'm going to borrow a tradition from my LEGACY series books.
Tallie O'Shea is the mother of eight adopted children--seven sons and her daughter, Marly. Though Tallie has secrets of her own, she has tried hard to make up for mistakes made earlier in her life. After she married Bernie, she devoted her life to becoming the best mom she could be.
"In the time they were married, Bernie insisted all the kids clean up, dress in their best and do something special for Tallie. Their "something special" had changed over the years, but not Bernie's insistence on Mother's Day being a day to show gratitude for all Tallie did every day. Since Bernie had been gone, her children continued this practice."
The first Mother's Day after the series begins brings a barbecue to a re-creation of a French cafe and a not-so-welcome guest. Tallie deals with the situation with her usual class, and her grown children DO remember all the years of manners drilled into them.
