Cliffhanger from Everlasting Love

Cliffhanger from Everlasting Love by Rosemary Indra.
He flopped down on the couch and turned on the television. The muscles in the back of his neck tightened and he could feel his frustration pound in his temples. Kevin Mathews had gotten away from him again. The man must have more lives than a cat. He propped his feet up on the coffee table and leaned back.
Tilting his beer can back, he drank a long swig then set the can on the coffee table. Reaching for the remote, he knocked over the beer. The amber liquid poured down his leg, soaking through his pants to his skin, infuriating him even further.
The scene changed on the television screen catching his attention. He clicked the volume control up. Sitting up he swung his feet to the floor.
“Forest Ridge battled an intense three alarm apartment fire today. One firefighter received minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
As the idea ignited in his mind, a slow smile formed on his lips. Firefighters were injured or killed at fires all the time. As the fire danced across his television screen he knew how he’d finally take care of Mathews once and for all.
