Mermaids
Mermaids. The word conjures images of svelte young women with engaging eyes and flowing hair enticing men to their deaths in the sea. Well, yes, for the most part that is the life of a merperson, however, they're not just relegated to the open oceans.
In the new faerie story, Defying the Odds, being published in the May Anthology of 2013, I'll introduce a young Selkie whose presence will leave a big mark on the community around The Lending Library. Trickle can leave the stream, her home, and appear as a young woman. This attribute will be a large contribution to the safety of the many faeries, gnomes and wood nymphs in the surrounding valley.
